Empower yourself!!!

Hello Friends,

I have been very quiet on here.  I am in South Africa (homeland) for holidays.  So excuse the absence!

I was just struck by a great blog idea this morning. Empowering yourself! I want to share some ideas on the subject with you, and feel free to add anything you want to!

I want to start with a VERY important one.

REPLACE NEGATIVE WITH POSITIVE TALK!
You have no idea how your words define your actions.  This does not even just refer to my career in fitness, but to everything else also.  If you have made up your mind in advance that you are going to fail, how can you tell yourself any different? I repeat this REPLACE NEGATIVE WITH POSITIVE TALK!

Avoid blaming external forces for your mistakes and wrong decisions. Take responsibility!!!

Recognize YOUR value! How little do we sometimes think of ourselves? Have you noticed that you would never speak to a friend, or even foe in the manner you sometimes speak to yourself? Be kind to YOU!

Determine what you want and take action to do it! Without you taking the necessary steps, no dream will ever become a reality! It does not happen by itself.

Okay I dont want to bore you, so enough with the pep talk...lol

Have a great week!

People seldom do things to the best of their ability.  They do things to the best of their willingness. - Unknown

Better alternative brownies - Delicious recipe!

I had such a craving for a moist brownie on Saturday.  I browsed through some recipes and finally found this one which I modified a bit to suit me.  I really recommend these.  It is all good clean nutrition.

No lactose or gluten.

1 1/4 cups Almond flour
1/2 cup sugar free cocao powder
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
3 tbsp QNT Metapure Zerocarb protein powder
1/2 tsp Salt
1/3 cup honey (you could leave this out if you want, because it was really sweet)
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup coconut milk
100g black chocolate
60g chopped nuts

Mix all ingredients very well. Scoop mixture into a oven pan, and top with chopped nuts. Bake at 200degrees for 15-20minutes.  Test with a toothpick

QNT Protein Sorbet

Who ever said you cannot have Ice-Cream this summer?

Try this creamy texture sorbet I just made! Use 1 cup of frozen berries with 30g of QNT Metapure Zerocarb protein.

I blended the frozen berries until they were quite broken up and smooth, then added a little bit of water and finally my protein.  I let it run for about a minute.  If you need it to be sweeter, add some stevia, but I was fine with the taste!

You would want to use a blender with a strong motor to do this chopping!  Try some other fruit and let me know how it came out!

Zucchini cakes

This is the easiest thing in the world to make and it makes a good side for any meat,or even eggs.

Mix 2 eggs with 200g of grated zucchini.  Add salt and pepper to taste.  I like the flavour of onion powder, so I added a teaspoon of that too.

Pan fry spoonfuls in a lightly macadamia oil coated pan.

Bon ap!
